My Plant Journey

My name is Christian and I’m crazy about houseplants. I am not a horticulturist or trained botanist by any means, I'm just a regular guy who invited plants into my life a few years ago and have enjoyed learning and caring for indoor plants since. 

Although my crazy plant guy life didn't start until a few years ago, growing up I was surrounded by plants because my grandpa had Aloes, Jades and Spider Plants throughout the house. He also had a vegetable outdoor garden during the summer, where I would help him plant and tend to some peppers, tomatoes and eggplants. 

In my early adult years, I housed three plants in total, one lucky bamboo, one dracaena and a jasmine plant that I took a cutting from the plant I gave my mom and grandpa back in 2005. I’m proud to say I still have that jasmine plant today, although I can’t say the same for the Dracaena and Lucky Bamboo. 

My Crazy Plant Guy life didn’t really start until the summer of 2017, when I wanted to add some plants to help fill up my indoor space. So, I began researching different types of plants that would look cool in my home and that’s when I discovered a Monstera Deliciosisa. After seeing pictures and very few YouTube content (at that time), I was immediately attracted to the huge split leaves and fenestrations, and I knew I wanted one for my place. I got one that summer and what can I say, it didn't stop there. LOL That was pretty much the start of my crazy plant guy journey. 

I really had no idea where this was going to go. All I knew was that I began to enjoy the experiences of being a new plant parent, it gave me a lot of joy, happiness, peace and something to look forward to after a long day at work. 

The love I have for houseplants, the desire to challenge and put myself out there, along with my passion for digital marketing and entrepreneurship, led me to create my YouTube channel and Instagram account. I wanted a way to share my experiences and document my journey that others may find helpful and entertaining at the same time. But what I found was more than that. I found a growing community that appreciates nature and loves plants as much as I do. A community that is accepting, kind and giving. A community, that I began to feel like I belonged to and didn’t feel weird for having too many plants. LOL

With that, I’m making it my mission to continue to grow this community and make a positive difference in this world. Helping others to self-express, appreciate nature and invite plants into their lives. This website will be a resource for all of you crazy plant lovers. You’ll find featured houseplant articles by some of your favourite plant-fluencers, blog post where I share my personal experience and care tips of my houseplants and access to my IG and YouTube content.
